Narwhal? What's a narwhal? Well, Narwhals are the unicorn of the sea. They reside in the Arctic Coastal waters and rivers. They have two teeth. The word narwhal is in fact an acronym, narwhal stands for: non. aquatic. rhinosorous. water. hating. abactor. lemur. Narwhals have an ivory tusk, that really serves no purpose. Although, scientests do believe that the purpose of the narwhal's tusk is for mating rituals, and or battle weapons. Females sometimes grow these tusks, but they're not as prominent as male tusks. They feed on fish, shrimp, squid and other aquatic animals. Often, these animals are sighted swimming in groups of 15-20, but gather in groups of hundreds, and sometimes thousands. Narwhal's are often hunted by Inuits because they are an important source of vitamin C. These beautiful creatures are related to bottle nose dolphins, belugas, orcas, harbor porpoises, and unicorns. They are about the size of a school bus, and weigh 3,500 pounds. Narwhal's are herbavores. When fighting, they have a distinct war cry, that sounds like a cross between a dolphin and a mountain lion (No one found this one). Their babies are called narwhalations. They are great pets.
